Place all desired items from the vendor's inventory into the trade window and confirm the trade. You will spend gold for these items. 3. Immediately switch to another party member (ideally a rogue or a character with high Sleight of Hand and proficiency in Stealth). 4. Have this second character enter stealth, approach the vendor, and pickpocket them. Your primary target for pickpocketing should be the gold you just gave them. 5. If the pickpocket attempt is successful, you will recover your gold, effectively getting all the purchased items for free. If you fail, the vendor may become hostile, so it's recommended to save before attempting this exploit.
